Lectors
Liturgical
Lectors proclaim the Word of God through the Old Testament and Epistle Readings. At Daily Masses, they also assist in the Responsorial Psalm. As the Word of God is central to our Catholic faith, this proclamation should be read aloud to our congregation carefully and boldly. Lectors are scheduled 2-4 times a quarter.
This ministry is open to fully initiated Catholics in good standing with the Church. This means that the person follows God's commandments by participating weekly in Sunday Mass and frequenting the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A lector must have received the Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation sacraments.
