Children's Faith Formation

"You too, dear young people can be joyful witnesses of his love, courageous witnesses of his Gospel, carrying to this world a ray of his light." - Pope Francis

Welcome to Religious Education! Our goal is to help our children grow to become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building relationships with them, being examples for them and teaching them God’s Word.

1st-5th Grade

Religious Education classes are held twenty Sundays from August to May. Sessions occur at St. Malachy School from 8:45 - 10:15 am, allowing children to participate in Mass with the families and apply and reinforce the faith formation they are experiencing during the Religious Education classes. While parents are the first teachers of the faith, these classes provide a unique opportunity for children to learn about their faith from their peers and from other adults’ perspectives, enriching their understanding and strengthening their faith.

'Round the world or just down the street, make peace with everyone you meet!

Welcome to Passport to Peace, an interactive VBS to help children make peace a way of life. Peacemaking skills are essential for those who want to follow Jesus’ way of peace. The four Bible stories in this curriculum encourage children to listen to and learn from people who are different, care for people who are sick or suffering, creatively work to keep everyone safe and refuse to respond to conflict with violence. Through worship and drama, Bible study, art projects, and active games, children learn that there are many opportunities and ways to live as peacemakers.

Passport to Peace invites children to see every person as part of God’s family and every interaction as an opportunity for peacemaking.

VBS is open to children 4 years old (by June 22, 2025) through 4th grade (based on the 2025-26 school year).  VBS will occur June 23-26th from 6-8 pm.
