Summer, Summer, Summer.....

by Father Sean Danda on July 11, 2021

Dear Parishioners:

Summer, Summer, Summer…….

Usually a time for rest and relaxation, but not here at St. Malachy!  We are busy, busy, busy!  But, it is all good stuff.

Summer Renovations…

The work on our campus continues including the drainage tile around the school, the playground, and other parking lot work.  We’ve also been gearing up for the new shelter out by Camp Coyote.

I am hopeful to get our new audio and visual equipment for the church.  It is certainly taking longer than we had hoped, and our sound system seems to be having more and more issues.  The current sound system has really run the length of its life.  I know many of our hearing impaired parishioners have asked about it.  Please be patient; it is coming soon!

Summer Camps…

We had a great Vacation Bible School at the end of June.  The kids (and adults) had a great time learning about Bible stories, our Catholic faith, and some pretty cool songs and dances.  We’re thankful for all who put it together and participated.

There are a few other school based summer camps happening including a band camp.  If you would like to learn more about them in order to plan for next summer, please contact the school office for further details.

Summer Priest Conference…

This week, I will be away for a continuing education workshop at the St. Paul Center (run by Dr. Scott Hahn) being held in West Virginia.  I am looking forward to learning more about our faith and pray these workshops help me to be a better pastor for you.

In a word, it has been a busy summer thus far; but these are all good things.  Our parish continues to grow and expand, not only its physical components but also the spiritual ones which are the most important.

I pray you are having a blessed summer and getting the rest and relaxation you need.

In Jesus, through Mary and St. Joseph,

Father Danda
