Our Pre-K academic program is World of Wonders. This curriculum is a developmentally appropriate, research-based program designed to prepare young children for Kindergarten. World of Wonders is a unit based program which builds a strong foundation for literacy, math, science, social studies, and music, while also continuing to establish social-emotional skills. Throughout our school year children will be guided to build familiarity with classroom and instructional routines that will make them successful in Kindergarten and beyond.
Jesus came to bring the good news of God’s love to the world and we are called to continue this mission. Our Pre-K religion curriculum is Discovering God’s World. This religious program introduces preschool children to the Catholic community’s life of faith. The Discovering God’s World curriculum presents human life as a gift of God. Our goal is to provide information, formation, instruction and participation when we share our life of faith with age appropriate lessons. The units are seasonal and contain special lessons when appropriate. This program is in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Our Pre-K classroom uses developmentally appropriate lessons with integrated theme-based (centers) learning. World of Wonders has weekly social-emotional books for enhanced learning and also social-emotional lessons by Mister Rogers to help children develop skills for the transition to Kindergarten. Transitional activities are used daily in the classroom and also American Sign Language.
