We are so pleased to introduce you to our
Indiana Department of Education A-Rated Catholic School.
We currently have 514 students in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8. We have two classes of each grade plus a vibrant specials schedule that includes Spanish, library, art, music, technology, and physical education.
Grades 6 through 8 follow a middle school plan, switching classrooms with subject-specific teachers.
We are proud to offer a challenging curriculum that is strong in our spiritual, academic, physical and emotional mission. The faculty and staff are caring, licensed professionals who meet the day-to-day challenges of teaching our students with enthusiasm and expertise. St. Malachy is fully accredited by both the Indiana Department of Education and Conia/North Central Association, and is proudly rated an IDOE Four Star School. Our Mission Statement: "Today we will be learning, loving, and living with Christ."
At St. Malachy Catholic School, faith comes first. Our students follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we practice living the values of our Catholic faith through daily prayer, religion classes, attending Mass, preparing for and sharing in the sacraments, and serving others. Faith is a living part of each day. Our theme for this year: Choose Love. . . through C.L.O.V.E.R.
Our school opened in 1955 and has many traditions in place that serve our students as well as the community. Just to name a few of our extra-curricular activities in which we participate include Academic Challenge, Spell Bowl, Cathedral Soup Kitchen, Band, Choir, Scouts, chess, and many Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) athletic teams.
St. Malachy has a warm, family atmosphere. These qualities are a result of having many school traditions, supportive parents, and a caring and dedicated faculty. This dedication is demonstrated in the success of our yearly Shamrock Spectacular fundraiser, service programs, and our day-to-day teacher-student interactions. The tireless effort of our staff is seen in their availability to our students.
