Let all you do be done in Love…through C.L.O.V.E.R.
Dear parents,
Country Fair excitement begins this week as the tents, trailers, and rides will be delivered this week. Morning arrival is normal all week. However, we do what is called Country Fair Parking for dismissal all week. This means that in the afternoon, all cars must park in the Church parking lot. The same considerations apply, park facing the church so you can drive forward out of your parking spot and turn your engines off until all students are in their cars. Cars must back into parking spots in the row closest to the church because they cannot drive forward. VIP spots will have cones in them and are closest to the church.
We have wrapped up the student trash bag sale. As a school, we sold 3,961 rolls. Our goal for screaming bingo was 4,000 rolls. However, we received a total of $914 in donations on top of the $3,961 rolls sold. With the added donations it exceeds our goal of selling 4,000 rolls, and we are happy to share that we will be having screaming bingo! Scream Bingo will be Thursday, October 5th, 2:15pm - 2:45pm. Students also earned an all school casual day which will be Tuesday, September 26th.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Now, the moment you have all been waiting for. The Top 3 selling families are:
Third Place – Reynolds Family sold 134 rolls
Second Place – Fon Family sold 140 rolls
And in First Place – Zumer Family sold 142 rolls
Those students who earned gift cards or casual passes will be receiving those soon through backpack mail.
For those that missed their trash bag pickup on Saturday, Justin Capps will be at the pole barn Monday and Tuesday beginning at 2:15pm. He will be there to fill orders until cars clear out after school pick up.
Lastly, here are the final results from Pennies for Pigs: Our kindergarteners earned an ice cream party for bringing in over $1,200 for Pennies for Pigs. The ice cream party will be Thursday, September 21st. As a school, students earned an all school casual day which will be Tuesday, September 26th.

We will have our first tornado drill this year on Wednesday. We won’t announce the next drill, but wanted to give parents an opportunity to explain the drill to their kiddos that may have never practiced a drill like this before. The teachers, of course, will take some time to explain a tornado drill.
-
This Strawbridge link will allow parents to sign up to receive updates via email regarding their child's school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals and the ability to order more pictures at a later time. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school. This is their name on their birth certificate.

Extended day is looking to hire a few people to supervise students after school until 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm. If you know anyone interested, contact Benita Wheeler
Safety
-
For morning drop-off, children must stay in their cars until the bell rings at 7:20am unless they are coming in for morning care. We have had students lined up at the door. There is no supervision until the bell rings at 7:20am.
-
Dismissal - do not leave until the parking lot attendant tells you to move.
-
Morning Drop off - If you drop off at the back in the mornings, please park in a yellow parking spot. Then walk your child to the sidewalk. Please do not pull up to the sidewalk, to drop off in the back.
-
Dismissal - Please make sure you turn your engines off once you park in your parking spot and keep your engine off until we begin dismissing. This prevents accidentally shifting the vehicle in gear. We close the parking lot at 2:54pm everyday, except on Wednesdays it closes at 2:24pm.
Information you may need at some point this school year
-
On spirit wear and jeans days, students can wear uniform bottoms or jeans - no jean shorts. They do not need to wear a belt with jeans and spirit wear does not need to be tucked in.
-
Late line - once you get to the school, you can park and walk in to get your child/children - you do not need to stay in line by the curb.
-
Morning care opens at 6:45am. It’s $1 per child per day. Please pay the day you attend.
-
If your child is absent from school, call the office or email us at
-
To email the office please use rather than emailing Lori Koontz, Kim Baldini, or Anna Fon.
-
Don’t forget to log your family service hours. https://stmalachy.org/service-
hours/ -
During COVID we allowed donated items to count toward service hours. 23-24 school year will be the last school year that donated items will count toward family service hours. $10 spent equals one service hour.
-
If you utilize Extended Day or are in the late line, you will come in to let the office know you are here and then check them out.
