Bible Verse of the Week:

Important reminders:

  • Parents, please remember to be out of your cars and ready to retrieve your child during half day dismissals in addition to full day dismissal.
  • Book It! Program- This year our classroom is participating in the BOOK IT! Program to encourage your child to find the joy in reading. From October through March, I will set a monthly reading goal for your child. They will have a goal of eight books to be read to them at home per month. Please review your child’s monthly reading goal and set aside daily read aloud time at home. When your child meets their reading goal, I will celebrate their reading achievement with an in-class celebration and send the certificate for a free personal pizza home for redemption. If you have any questions about the program, please let me know.  Reading logs for the month of December are due by Thursday, December 16.
  • ClassDojo-Behavior reporting started the second week of school.  Please know that most of the behavior that is reported is very age appropriate, and we will work with each student to correct the behavior. If at any time we have a serious behavior issue that requires immediate attention or are needing extra parent support for a specific behavior, Mrs. Imel will notify you via email or phone call.
  • If you choose to send your child to school in a mask, we ask that you please send in an extra mask as a backup.
  • Students are allowed to wear St. Malachy spirit wear and jeans or uniform bottoms on Fridays only, unless there is notification of otherwise.
  • Blankets will be sent home for cleaning every week on your child’s last school day of the week.  Please be sure to send them back upon your child’s return to school.
  • Blankets must be small enough to fit into a gallon baggie as our cubbies are not big enough for large blankets. We ask that students do not bring in pillows or stuffed animals for rest time.
