Our theme for the month of January is “The Arctic.” We will continue learning about Arctic animals including narwhals and walruses. We will also learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and do a few activities. We have been having indoor snowball fights with yarn “snowballs”, and our new sensory bin with insta-snow is open for play. We will sort Arctic animals by land/sea and by wings/no wings. Finally, we will get out dice and play Arctic Bump.
We have made progress building our igloo, and the students are so excited about it!
For math, we are continuing with number identifying, counting, writing numbers, graphing, more than/less than concept and patterns. We will continue working on the concept of addition and subtraction. We will begin skip counting by twos as well.
This week we are singing “Baby Beluga”. Please use this link if you want to sing along at home.
