Shamrock Cafe Weekly Menu Information August 16 - August 20

This week we are excited to present oven roasted brown-sugar glazed crinkle cut carrots.  This is a fabulous twist on traditional carrots.  We simply roast our crinkle cut carrots, then coat them with a melted brown sugar sauce with just enough salt to make the sweetness sing.  By making this vegetable side from scratch, we are able to monitor both sodium and calories very closely to ensure it is extra healthy for the kids.

 

This week we will be having the following lunches

 

Monday: Featuring oven roasted Brown-sugar Glazed Crinkle Cut Carrots

  • -Whole Grain Chicken Nuggets, with dipping sauces such as BBQ and Honey Mustard
  • -Steamed California Blend: a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots
  • -Applesauce
  • -oven roasted brown-sugar glazed crinkle cut carrots.

And as an added bonus, we will be sampling Buffalo Chicken Crispers for grades 6-8!!

 

Tuesday: A Mexican inspired lunch

  • -Soft Beef Tacos, with sides including salsa, sour cream, shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese
  • -Steamed Corn, a great pairing for this lunch
  • -Black beans, with a touch of Mexican seasoning
  • -Sliced Pears

 

Wednesday: An American staple lunch.

  • -Sloppy Joes on a whole grain bun
  • -French Fries - good with any warm sandwich
  • -Steamed Broccoli
  • -Fresh Fruit Bowl, including grapes and cantaloupe

 

Thursday: Featuring Ranch Seasoned Potato Wedges

  • -Cheese Omelet, breakfast for lunch!
  • -Whole Grain Bagel offered with sour cream
  • -Ranch Seasoned Potato Wedges, for a little extra zest
  • -Steamed Sugar Snap Peas
  • -Mandarin Oranges

 

Friday: Featuring Nacho Cheese - made in house!

  • -Whole Grain Bosco Sticks, a very popular item here at St Malachy
  • -Marinara sauce, and House-made Nacho cheese as sides
  • -Steamed Peas and Carrots
  • -Fresh Tossed salad, offered with Ranch, French, and Italian dressing
