Dear parents,

New Information & Reminders

  • Attached is our most recent newsletter, which can also be found on our website in Shamrock Shortcuts. 

  • Used Uniform Sale May 5th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

  • 22 - 23 Tentative Calendar is attached.  - Dec. 12, 2022 & February 17, 2023 changed from E-Learning Days to In Person Days.  REASON FOR THE CHANGE: House Enrolled Act 1093 limits schools to “no more than three (3) virtual student instructional days each school year.” This includes weather-related virtual days. This calendar can also be found on our website on the top of the main school page. 

  • 8th graders will be able to sell their uniforms in the Used Uniform Sale after Wednesday, May 4. Those uniforms must be turned in that evening.  Beginning on May 5 the 8th graders will be out of uniform in casual clothing.  I ask that they follow the handbook concerning casual clothing.  

  • Attached is a flyer about how you can contribute to care packages for our two seminarians, Deacon Matthew Peroni and seminarian Anthony Armbruster. We will accept gifts until May 12. This information can also be found in my links and resources on my blog page. 

  • Attached is information about Ritter high school’s sports camp for 3rd - 8th graders. This information can also be found on the website under Shamrock Shortcuts, CYO (Youth Athletics.)

  • This week students in 4th and 6th have the science and social studies portion of ILEARN.

  • Teacher Appreciation Week is May 2 - 6! PTO has fun stuff planned for the teachers along with the Coffee & Smoothie Bar on Thursday morning. 

  • Dine to Donate: Dairy Queen May 3. See the attached flyer, which can also be found on the website, under Shamrock Shortcuts, PTO.

  • Band Information Meeting is May 12 at 7pm in the cafe, for any student in 4th - 8th grade that would like to join the band for next school year. 

  • Green and White Gala is Monday, May 23 6:00pm - 7:30pm in the church. Doors open at 5:30pm.  Please see attachment for more information

  • Field Day is May 20 with a short pep rally 12:15pm - 12:45pm. Parents are welcome to attend the Pep Rally at 12:15 - bring ear plugs:).  It is a 1pm dismissal. Extended Day is available.

  • It is our tradition that parents decorate their cars for the last day of school.  So start planning now since you only have 25 days to make your idea rock the parking lot on Thursday, May 26!  Yes it is a 1pm dismissal. Extended Day is available.

Recent Information

  • Lunch has been free the last two school years as a COVID relief benefit; however, beginning next school year they will no longer be free.

  • VIP Parking Spots are for the 2022 - 2023 school year beginning August

  • May Crowning is May 11.

  • 8th grade Confirmation is May 19 at 7pm at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis with Archbishop Thompson.

  • 3rd Grade teacher

St. Malachy Catholic School, located on the west side of Indianapolis in the growing town of Brownsburg is seeking a 3rd Grade Teacher for the 2022 -2023 school year. The teacher will provide instruction in Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies and Religion instruction, as well as preparing students for IREAD-3 and ILEARN using student data. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong faith, is an engaging, positive joyful individual who focuses on student-center based instruction and creating a safe, faith-based learning environment, building strong relationships with students and staff, and helping students become responsible life-long learners.

  • 5th Grade Teacher

St. Malachy Catholic School, located on the west side of Indianapolis in the growing town of Brownsburg is seeking a 5th Grade Teacher for the 2022 -2023 school year. The teacher will provide instruction in English Languarts Arts (ELA) and Religion instruction to both 5th grade classrooms and have homeroom responsibilities. They will use student data to help every student grow. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong faith, is an engaging, positive joyful individual who focuses on student-center based instruction and creating a safe, faith-based learning environment, building strong relationships with students and staff, and helping students be prepared for middle school in order to be responsible life-long learners.

Safety 

  • Drop off - If you drop off at the back in the mornings, please park in a parking spot. Then walk your child to the sidewalk. Please do not pull up to the sidewalk, to drop off in the back

  • Dismissal - Please make sure you turn your engines off once you park in your parking spot and keep your engine off until we begin dismissing.  This prevents accidentally shifting the vehicle in gear. We close the parking lot at 2:55pm everyday, except on Wednesdays it closes at 2:25pm.

  • If you utilize Extended Day or are in the late line, you can only TEXT(463)209-9650 no longer call the pickup line for it will not be answered.  In the event you must speak to Mrs. Wheeler please contact her at (317) 852-2242 ext 7204  Finally, when you arrive:                                                   

    • Park

    • Text(include name, and grade levels)  Proceed to the airlock where once staff      has a visual of you, they will release the student from the office

  • If your child is absent from school, work is collected and placed on the table just inside the front door for pick up at the end of the day.
