Welcome back! Will hopefully be enjoying spring-like weather as we grow closer to Easter. Remember we dismiss early on Good Friday and there is no extended care. Also, enjoy Easter Monday, as we have no school April 18.

Dear parents,

Welcome back to school. If you were traveling last week, I hope you arrived home safely without delay. It was such a blessing to go on Spring Break, and I pray the nice weather arrives here soon.

New Shamrock Parking begins today, April 4, 2022.
VIP Parking Spots are for the 2022 - 2023 school year beginning August.

April 15 Good Friday:

1:00 pm dismissal- NO EXTENDED DAY
April 15 our 8th graders will present Stations of the Cross at 9:00 am.
April 15. I encourage you to attend Mass at 3:00 pm as a family.

April 18 no school: Easter Monday
Used Uniform Sale May 5th 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm —Uniforms can be turned into the office from now until April 29. Any uniforms you want to sell, please mark them using the attached tags. If you only want to donate them, mark them as such.

Recent Information

We will begin ILEARN on Tuesday, April 19 for grades 3rd - 8th. They must have headphones, please check with your child to see if their headphones still work
May Crowning is May 11.
8th grade Confirmation is May 19 at 7pm at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis with Archbishop Thompson.

School Needs

Cafeteria Manager position. I’ve attached information about the position. This information can also be found on the church website, Resources, Job Postings. If interested, contact me at .
Thank you to those that answered this call to be a sub; it’s not always the easiest of jobs. We still need substitutes. If you have a day or five days or anything in between, contact us.
Extended day is looking to hire a few people, including high school students. If you know anyone interested, contact Benita Wheeler .

Safety

Drop off - If you drop off at the back in the mornings, please park in a parking spot. Then walk your child to the sidewalk. Please do not pull up to the sidewalk, to drop off in the back.
Dismissal - If grandparents or other relatives pick up your child/children, please review the dismissal procedures with them or have them alert me that this is their first time so I can help guide them when to leave. We close the parking lot at 2:55pm everyday, except on Wednesdays it closes at 2:25pm.
Please let your child’s teacher know about masking changes such as you want your child masked or they don’t have to mask anymore.

Why do I work at St. Malachy

I truly believe that God called me to St. Malachy; it’s in His plan for me. I love working with all the students and staff at St. Malachy.

Where do I usually sit in Church

Well at school mass, I sit with Mrs. Prahl’s class because Mrs. Prahl was my sponsor when I went through RCIA. However, when I attend mass with my husband, we usually sit in the back not so we can sneak out but because we can sit down quickly and see Jesus in the stained glass.

How would I describe St. Malachy to someone who has never been here

It’s home…where my other family comes to grow. St. Malachy is a family that has very high expectations and students and staff sometimes experience growing pains, but when their time comes to leave St. Malachy they are more than prepared to meet and conquer the next challenge knowing that they can calls us if they ever need help because we are family!

I’ve been married to my amazing husband, George, for 27 years. We have three children and one princess (Macy our 2 year old boxer).

I didn’t like going to church because it seemed so long, but now as an adult, I love going to mass to celebrate!
