Welcome back! Will hopefully be enjoying spring-like weather as we grow closer to Easter. Remember we dismiss early on Good Friday and there is no extended care. Also, enjoy Easter Monday, as we have no school April 18.

Dear parents,

Welcome back to school. If you were traveling last week, I hope you arrived home safely without delay.  It was such a blessing to go on Spring Break, and I pray the nice weather arrives here soon.

New Information & Reminders

  • Our most recent newsletter is attached. The newsletter can also be found in Shamrock Shortcuts on our website. 

  • Lunches next school year will not be free.

  • Chess club info is attached. This info can also be found in my links and resources on my blog page/website.

  • Indy Eleven Game April 24. See attached info. This information can also be found on the CYO page (Athletics-CYO) in Shamrock Shortcuts on our website. 

  • Dine to Donate: Rush off Main, April 14. See attached info which can also be found on the PTO page in Shamrock Shortcuts on our website. 

  • New Shamrock Parking begins today, April 4, 2022.

  • VIP Parking Spots are for the 2022 - 2023 school year beginning August.

  • The last Fish Fry is this Friday, April 8 

  • April 15 Good Friday:

    • 1:00 pm dismissal- NO EXTENDED DAY

    • April 15 our 8th graders will present Stations of the Cross at 9:00 am.

    • April 15. I encourage you to attend Mass at 3:00 pm as a family. 

  • April 18 no school: Easter Monday

  • Used Uniform Sale May 5th 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm —Uniforms can be turned into the office from now until April 29. Any uniforms you want to sell, please mark them using the attached tags.  If you only want to donate them, mark them as such.

Recent Information

  • We will begin ILEARN on Tuesday, April 19 for grades 3rd - 8th. They must have headphones, please check with your child to see if their headphones still work

  • May Crowning is May 11.

  • 8th grade Confirmation is May 19 at 7pm at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis with Archbishop Thompson.  

  • Practice and learn the ten commandments

School Needs

Safety 

  • Drop off - If you drop off at the back in the mornings, please park in a parking spot. Then walk your child to the sidewalk. Please do not pull up to the sidewalk, to drop off in the back

  • Dismissal - If grandparents or other relatives pick up your child/children, please review the dismissal procedures with them or have them alert me that this is their first time so I can help guide them when to leave.  We close the parking lot at 2:55pm everyday, except on Wednesdays it closes at 2:25pm.

  • Please let your child’s teacher know about masking changes such as you want your child masked or they don’t have to mask anymore. 

Information you may need at some point this school year

  • Don’t forget to log your family service hours. https://stmalachy.org/service-hours/

  • If you utilize Extended Day or are in the late line, you can only TEXT(463)209-9650 no longer call the pickup line for it will not be answered.  In the event you must speak to Mrs. Wheeler please contact her at (317) 852-2242 ext 7204  Finally, when you arrive:                                                   

    • Park

    • Text(include name, and grade levels)  Proceed to the airlock where once staff      has a visual of you, they will release the student from the office

  • If your child is absent from school, work is collected and placed on the table just inside the front door for pick up at the end of the day.
