I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Break.

New Information & Reminders

• You will find our most recent St. Malachy Newsletter in my links and resources. It can also be found on our school website in Shamrock Shortcuts. 

• The Christmas program (preschool - 2nd) is Thursday December 16th at 1:00 p.m. in the church.  We will have it live streamed and posted on our YouTube channel for those that cannot attend our 1:00 pm performance.

• Information about Changing Footprints, a shoe drive, can be found in my links and resources. 

• December 18 - information about the Christmas Food Drive Basketball Classic can be found on our website, athletics page. Hint: casual pass could be earned.

• With kids constantly growing, the end of the first semester is a good time to check on your child’s uniforms. Are the skirts, dresses, skorts getting too short? Are their shirts getting to the point that they won’t stay tucked in? Is their belt worn or too small?

Recent Information

• Open House is January 30, 2022 from 11am to 1pm. This when registration opens for new families.

• If your child is absent from school, work is collected and placed on the table just inside the front door for pick up at the end of the day.

• Cafe information - after our recent Indiana Department of Education School Nutrition Program Review, we must increase the cost of any snacks items we offer to middle school students by 5 cents. Attached is information about 

• CYO wrestling at St. Michael for males in preK - 8th grade, information is attached.

•  If you utilize Extended Day or are in the late line, you can only TEXT(463)209-9650 no longer call the pickup line for it will not be answered.  In the event you must speak to Mrs. Wheeler please contact her at (317) 852-2242 ext 7204  Finally, when you arrive:                                                   

• Park

• Text(include name, and grade levels)  Proceed to the airlock where once staff      has a visual of you, they will release the student from the office

School Needs

• We are in need of substitutes.  If you have a day or five days or anything in between, contact us.

•  A form to sign up to volunteer in the cafe can be found in my links and resources. We really need people on Wednesday and Thursday. This is a fun way to see your kids and earn your service hours.

• Extended day is looking to hire a few people, including high school students. If you know anyone interested, contact Benita Wheeler .

• The cafe is still looking for someone to work from 10am to 1pm out in the cafeteria with the students.

Safety 

• Morning drop off - If you arrive before 7:20 am, please be mindful of those that are dropping off their children for morning care and park in the parking lot rather than along the curb. Then at 7:20, you will be able to get in line along the curb.

• Dismissal - Be careful when walking in our parking lot as the temperature drops as the puddles freeze becoming very slick.  Also our parking lot does get plowed and salted, but there always seems to be an ice buildup in the middle of the front lot by the drain.

COVID DASHBOARD THIS WEEK

• I will communicate via email to classes with a COVID-19 positive case, call close contacts and update the COVID dashboard weekly below. 

•  If your child or anyone in your household tests positive, please let Mrs. Bell and I know. If we do not report it, the health department will contact us.

Quarantines:  7 quarantined*

*quarantines listed are students/staff that were exposed to a positive case in the classroom, extracurricular activities, family events, or positive family members, etc.
