A few weekend notes. . .

Good afternoon parents,

Here are a few notes…

Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, so don't forget to turn your clocks back.
Quest (for middle school students) - Fr. Michael Keucher will be talking about vocations in the Holy Family Room at 6pm and there is a scavenger hunt with prizes!
Are you ready for some football?! St. Malachy football teams in the semi-finals this weekend:

3/4 team playing at Roncalli on Saturday, November 4 at noon.
5/6 team playing at Ritter on Sunday, November 5 at 3:30pm.
Cadet team playing at Ritter on Sunday, November 5 at 2pm.

Chess Club signup form is attached. It runs from November 15 to January 24th.
Running Club is back, see the attached flyer.
Picture retakes are November 16 & 17
November 5th through 11th is National Vocations Awareness Week. I've attached our events. Please take notice of Tuesdays dress up day (bring a box of movie candy, a movie gift card, or money to donate to the seminarians).
Morning drop-off reminders - 1) For morning drop off in the front of the school, remember that students can get out of your vehicle if you are next to the sidewalk. The sidewalk begins near the preschool playground. Once all cars have dropped off children, the next group of cars pull forward. I still have kids not getting out of the car by the sidewalk, but the cars pull forward to let their child out at the front door. This could cause an accident when a car stops in front of the school doors unexpectedly. 2) Do not drive/cut through the parking lot and cut in line - you must enter the lot by the football field.

Why do I work at St. Malachy

I truly believe that God called me to St. Malachy; it’s in His plan for me. I love working with all the students and staff at St. Malachy.

Where do I usually sit in Church

Well at school mass, I sit with Mrs. Prahl’s class because Mrs. Prahl was my sponsor when I went through RCIA. However, when I attend mass with my husband, we usually sit in the back not so we can sneak out but because we can sit down quickly and see Jesus in the stained glass.

How would I describe St. Malachy to someone who has never been here

It’s home…where my other family comes to grow. St. Malachy is a family that has very high expectations and students and staff sometimes experience growing pains, but when their time comes to leave St. Malachy they are more than prepared to meet and conquer the next challenge knowing that they can calls us if they ever need help because we are family!

I’ve been married to my amazing husband, George, for 27 years. We have three children and one princess (Macy our 2 year old boxer).

One memory of church growing up

I didn’t like going to church because it seemed so long, but now as an adult, I love going to mass to celebrate!
