The Preschool Clover students will be learning frequently through play and hands on interaction, as we incorporate seven key objectives in our classroom. Those objectives are Create, Move, Sing, Discuss, Observe, Read, and Play. The curriculum and resources that are used in the classroom will be used during small group learning and during play times.
The Preschool Clovers will be learning the following:
- Religion- A (Catholic) program called God Made Me by Loyola Press that is a comprehensive early childhood program that engages young children in developmentally appropriate activities that nourish their developing relationship to God and others by weaving together essential faith content and academic concepts. This program is designed so that upon completion, children are ready to continue their faith journey into pre-kindergarten and beyond.
- Academic Studies- World of Wonders By McGraw-Hill. World of Wonders is a PreK literacy curriculum that builds a strong foundation for early literacy and provides developmentally appropriate instruction for early learners, ages three to five, including cross-curricular activities, a focus on social-emotional development, and preparation for kindergarten and beyond.
- Social and Emotional Learning- Lessons by Slumberkins designed to introduce social emotional concepts to students and then broaden their understanding of those concepts over time. Each lesson reinforces positive life skills through touch, sight, and sound.
- STEM Enrichment- STEM education is an approach that combines science, technology, engineering and math. Its recent successor, STEAM, also incorporates the arts. Students will learn how the scientific method can be applied to everyday life, as well as build an awareness of the STEAM fields and occupations. STEM education offers structured inquiry-based and real-world problem-based learning, connecting all four of the STEAM subjects.
