Dear parents,

…and in the blink of an eye, October is almost over. Our bi-monthly newsletter is attached.

I’m not sure how I put the wrong dates on the calendar in the student handbook, but I did. So here are the correct dates:

The Preschool - 2nd grade Christmas Music Program is December 12, 2024, not December 19, 2024.
The 3rd - 5th grade Spring Music Program is March 20, 2025, March 13, 2025.

Students can wear orange, purple, or black tops with uniform bottoms on Thursday, October 31.

Remember if a student is not at school, they cannot attend extracurricular activities that day.

October 31 - Altar Server picture after Mass. This is for all altar servers.
November 1 - All Saints Day. This is a Holy Day of Obligation, Mass at 8:15am. NO ADORATION & BENEDICTION

Parent Presentations - Mark your calendars

High School 101- November 13, 2024, 6:30pm in the school cafeteria.

This presentation is for St. Malachy and St. Susanna parents of 6th - 8th graders to learn more about high school diploma requirements, scholarships, and placement tests.
8th graders will have a presentation in the morning.

Social Media and Internet Safety - November 20, 2024, 6pm in the Holy Family Room. The presenter is Tiffany Preston. Ms. Preston is an Assistant District Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.

Here are a few important dates to put on your calendar!

First Placement Test November 2nd and December 7th at 9:00 am! Doors open at 8:30 to register!! This is for any student attending a Catholic High School.

Open House November 7th from 6:00-8:00.

Just a friendly reminder, applications for next year open on October 18th. Get your applications in early to avoid any anxiety as your child moves onto high school.

Volunteer opportunities

Interested in being a parent volunteer? All school volunteers are required to complete Safe Parish training prior to volunteering. Click here to complete the training. The code to enter is archindy2021.

Why do I work at St. Malachy

I truly believe that God called me to St. Malachy; it’s in His plan for me. I love working with all the students and staff at St. Malachy.

Where do I usually sit in Church

Well at school mass, I sit with Mrs. Prahl’s class because Mrs. Prahl was my sponsor when I went through RCIA. However, when I attend mass with my husband, we usually sit in the back not so we can sneak out but because we can sit down quickly and see Jesus in the stained glass.

How would I describe St. Malachy to someone who has never been here

It’s home…where my other family comes to grow. St. Malachy is a family that has very high expectations and students and staff sometimes experience growing pains, but when their time comes to leave St. Malachy they are more than prepared to meet and conquer the next challenge knowing that they can calls us if they ever need help because we are family!

I’ve been married to my amazing husband, George, for 27 years. We have three children and one princess (Macy our 2 year old boxer).

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13. This is the reason I am capable of doing anything and all praise goes to God.

One memory of church growing up

I didn’t like going to church because it seemed so long, but now as an adult, I love going to mass to celebrate!
