Dear parents,

Thank you all for a wonderful school year! It’s hard to believe that it’s over already!

Remember, Wednesday, May 22, 2024 is the last day of school and it’s a 1pm dismissal. There is NO Extended Day.

All library books need to be turned in, all lunch and extended day balances need to be taken care of, and all OTC and prescription medications will need to be picked up by the last day of school.

I will send out a Summer Newsletter in early July with information for the upcoming school year.

As you may remember, we use Bark to monitor students’ google accounts during the school year. We will only have middle school students’ google accounts open as they have summer projects, but their accounts will be monitored.

PowerSchool’s parent portal will be closed Tuesday, May 21 until all grades are updated, reviewed, and finalized. This is usually a week.

The school office will be open Tuesday - Thursday from 8am to Noon. The office will be closed July 1 - July 8, 2024.

Traditionally parents decorate their cars for the last day of school. So start planning how you will decorate your car for the last day of school and make sure your horn works. All staff will line the sidewalks and wave good-bye. Can’t wait to see the decorations you come up with this year.
Pep Rally is Wednesday, May 22 at 9:30 am. All parents are welcome to join us!
Last day of school is Wednesday, May 22 with a 1pm dismissal (No extended day)

IMPORTANT: ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL REMINDERS

In the morning, please do not drive through the middle of the parking lot, but enter by the football field and follow the road.
Also please do not pass in the drop off line.
Please pull all the way forward; do not stop at the front door to drop-off.
In the afternoon, please be respectful of the painted parking spots as these are purchased through ShamRockIt.
If you have a grandparent, family member or neighbor pickup, please remind them not to park in the painted sports.
Help others in the parking lot especially if it looks like this is their first time.

Why do I work at St. Malachy

I truly believe that God called me to St. Malachy; it’s in His plan for me. I love working with all the students and staff at St. Malachy.

Where do I usually sit in Church

Well at school mass, I sit with Mrs. Prahl’s class because Mrs. Prahl was my sponsor when I went through RCIA. However, when I attend mass with my husband, we usually sit in the back not so we can sneak out but because we can sit down quickly and see Jesus in the stained glass.

How would I describe St. Malachy to someone who has never been here

It’s home…where my other family comes to grow. St. Malachy is a family that has very high expectations and students and staff sometimes experience growing pains, but when their time comes to leave St. Malachy they are more than prepared to meet and conquer the next challenge knowing that they can calls us if they ever need help because we are family!

I’ve been married to my amazing husband, George, for 27 years. We have three children and one princess (Macy our 2 year old boxer).

Favorite scripture passage

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13. This is the reason I am capable of doing anything and all praise goes to God.

One memory of church growing up

I didn’t like going to church because it seemed so long, but now as an adult, I love going to mass to celebrate!
