The West Deanery offers 3 youth masses a year at the surrounding West Side parishes. Everyone is welcome to mass. After mass the host parish offers a social activity afterwards.
When Saint Malachy was asked to hold the West Deanery Youth Mass, the church band, by the name of Shamapalooza, was asked by the church to provide the music for the mass. The band obliged willingly, and the mass couldn't have gone smoother! After that, all were invited into the gymnasium off the parish school, where they were served food.
Everyone was
invited to go outside after that and participate in a various games that
kept them entertained for a pretty long time!
