Outreach funds are contributed by our parishioners to help various ministries and organizations fulfill their missions. Typically St. Malachy receives $6,000 - $8,000 in contributions allocated as Outreach funds. Some of the organizations that have received funds are:
- St. Vincent Depaul Society
- Women's Prison Ministry
- Gabriel Project
- Haiti Ministry
- Family Promise
- Beggars for the Poor
- Cathedral Soup Kitchen
Any ministry or organization can apply for Outreach funds. Please click the link to the application below. Once the application is received it is brought before the Stewardship Committee for approval. Applications are considered twice per year, in November and May, with funds being distributed in June and December.
These funds have helped a great number of people and it is a testiment to the generosity of our loving faith community. If you have any questions please contact John Kiefer in the parish business office.
"Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work."
The Outreach Ministry decided to help sponsor the 2017 Underneath It All Campaign. This is a collection of packaged undergarments/monetary donations to help provide a basic necessity in our community to those in need. This was part of an interfaith effort to meet a community need. Please read below a message we received from the Underneath It All Campaign.
"I received the $500 check from St. Malachy today for the underwear collection. Please thank your congregation for their continued support of this outreach program. Without the participation of churches, such as yourself, we would not be able to provide undergarments to those impacted by poverty in Hendricks County."
