Family Promise of Hendricks County is looking for a part-time driver to provide transportation for its guests. Responsibilities include transporting families from local congregations to the Resource Center in a 15-passenger van, providing Resource Center coverage by answering telephones, assisting walk-in clients as needed, light cleaning of office space and office maintenance: moving small boxes, shoveling steps and walkway, taking garbage to dumpster, etc. The pay is $10/hour. For insurance purposes, drivers must be at least 26 years old, have a good driving record and be willing to complete a background check and drug sreen. Individual should be able to lift at least 20 pounds and climb stairs. Hours based on guest need. Must be available some days from approximately 6:00am to 9:00am and 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Approximately 20 hours per week including weekends. Daily hours and duties may be shared by two part-time drivers. Messiah Lutheran Church in Brownsburg is looking to fill the Communication Coordinator position.  This position is part-time and the person would need to be available Wednesday through Friday from 9 am – 3 pm.  This person is responsible for weekly church bulletins, PowerPoint presentations and email communication as well as publishing a monthly newsletter. This person needs to be detail oriented and be able to work on multiple projects at once. This position needs someone who is proficient in Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint. Other Microsoft products will be used (Word, Excel & Outlook). In addition, this person will occasionally greet church & community members as well as answer phones and complete other office tasks. Associate Director, Senior Companion Program

The Senior Companion Program is seeking a full-time Associate Director to assist in essential leadership duties for the support of adult volunteers who are age 55 and over as well as the elderly clients whom they serve. Catholic Charities Indianapolis sponsors the Senior Companion Program, which is administered by the Corporation for National & Community Service, an independent federal agency created to connect Americans of all ages and backgrounds with meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Applicants should have a genuine interest in and knowledge of older adult, volunteer, and caregiver issues.  Knowledge of and ability to access community resources as well as the ability to manage multiple projects at one time are essential.  Experience in program development and volunteer recruitment, training, and supervision is needed.    Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds is required.  Ability to analyze data and exercise sound judgment is imperative.  Ability to work in a collegial team environment is crucial.  A Master’s Degree with focus in social services or gerontology preferred.  Experience working with older adults, volunteerism, creating community partnerships, and social services are also preferred.
