A Letter from Fr. Vince

April 23, 2017

Dear Parish Family,

A special word of thanks to all of our liturgical ministers and the Arts and Environment Group for all their hard work and efforts at the Masses for Easter Sunday. The church was decorated in grand style and the music was fabulous. Fr. Jegan was able to be the celebrant for the very first time at the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday. Nearly 20 people received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. I was to thank the RCIA Team for preparing these people for this important time in their lives. St. Malachy has a great volunteer spirit throughout the year and it really shines through at such important times as Easter.

On Sunday, May 7th, there will be an ice cream social at the parish. It will take place following Noon Mass. The event is being held simply as a way to say "thanks" for all that you do for St. Malachy. In my State of the Parish Address, I spoke about the importance of the Stewardship of Time, Talent, and Treasure. All fo you go above and beyond in supporting our parish in these areas. The ice cream social will be an opportunity for the parish to come together for fun & fellowship and to celebrate what God is doing in our faith community.

Next weekend we will be celebrating First Holy Communion for 113 children of the parish. 40 children will receive their First Communion at the 5:30 Mass on Saturday evening. The rest of the children will receive their First Communion at a special 1"30 Mass on Sunday afternoon. Let's lift all of them up in prayer as they approach this special time in their lives.

Blessings to all of our college students who are taking finals at this time and wrapping up another year of studies. You are in our thoughts and prayers, especially those who are graduating and preparing to start your own career.

Continued Easter blessings,

Fr. Vince
